Your claim, on the record

After a loss, the record you keep does the heavy lifting — every call, photo, letter, and receipt. LossKeeper keeps it organized, dated, and ready to share, so nothing gets lost while you rebuild.

Free, no ads On your device first No account needed Print a PDF anytime

LossKeeper helps you organize your own claim. It doesn’t value, interpret, or negotiate your claim, and it isn’t a public adjuster, a lawyer, or a substitute for either.

How it works

Three steps. No account needed.

  1. 1

    Tell it about the loss

Three quick questions — home or business, what happened, and a few basics you already know. About a minute.

  2. 2

Keep the record as it happens

Log calls and letters, photograph room by room, save receipts, estimates, and payments. Everything is dated and in one place.

  3. 3

    Share a clean report

When your insurer, a contractor, or anyone helping you asks, print or save a PDF of exactly the sections they need.

Questions

Good to know

Is it really free?

Yes. No ads, no subscriptions, and your information is never sold. Businesses can pay for a clearly labelled “Featured” spot in the specialist directory — that’s how LossKeeper is funded. Paying never changes what your file suggests.

Is LossKeeper a public adjuster or a law firm?

No. LossKeeper helps you organize your own claim. It doesn’t value, interpret, or negotiate claims, and it doesn’t represent you. The guides explain where to find licensed help if you want it.

Does my insurance company see my file?

No. Your file stays with you. You decide what to share, and when — usually by printing a report of just the sections someone needs.

Do I need an account?

No. Everything works on this device without one. A free account is optional: it backs your file up and lets you open it on your phone and computer.

Does it work on my phone?

Yes — it’s built phone-first for walking a damaged property. On most phones you can add it to your home screen, and your file keeps working without a signal; backup catches up when you’re back online.

What kinds of claims does it handle?

Home, renter, condo, and small-business property claims — fire and smoke, water, wind and storm, hail, trees, vehicles into buildings, vandalism, and theft.

Start your file while it’s fresh.

The record you keep this week is the one you’ll rely on later.

Step 1 of 3

Is this claim for a home or a business?

This shapes your checklist and which specialists you’ll see.

What caused the damage?

Each kind of loss has its own things to photograph and track. Pick the one that fits — you can change it anytime.

Everything here is built from what you’ve logged — and every summary shows its evidence. You’re always in control of it.

Edit

A claim is only as clear as its record — and the record is yours to keep. The more you log now, while it’s fresh, the fuller the picture you can show later.

Log

Every call, letter, payment, and visit — recorded and kept in order. Describe it in your own words, or pick what happened.

Your normal spending

baseline

ALE covers the extra you spend because of the loss — not your ordinary costs. Recording what you’d normally spend helps you show what’s genuinely additional.

Your normal weekly food spending is usually deducted from your ALE payment — you’d have spent it whether or not the loss happened, so insurance reimburses the difference.

Documents

Keep everything in one place, sorted so you can find any file the moment someone asks. Drag files straight onto a category.

Your documents are yours. LossKeeper stores them so you can find and share them — it doesn’t read them to draw conclusions about your claim.

Specialists

Browse the specialist types relevant to your claim, or search by name. Each category opens with a short, plain-language explanation of what that professional does.

Listings aren’t recommendations — the choice is yours. Businesses list themselves, and LossKeeper reviews each one before it appears. Some pay a flat fee to be Featured; that’s always labelled and never changes what your file suggests. Check licensing, insurance, and references before you hire.
